PART 4: MINISTERIAL ORDERS

  MINISTERIAL ORDER NO.5/INSURANCE OF 1982 WITH RESPECT TO INCREASING THE FUNERAL EXPENSES GRANT

The Minister for Labour and Social Affairs, Having examined the Social Insurance Law promulgated by Amiri Decree-Law No. 24 of 1976 as amended by Amiri Decree-Law No. 27 of 1976 and Amiri Decree-Law No. 12 of 1977, And Ministerial Order No. 6/Insurance of 1981 in respect of raising the funeral expenses grant to the insured in the event of his death and the interest accruing on the lump sum compensation, And the resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of the General Organisation for Social Insurance at its sitting held on 13 October 1982 for the increase of the funeral expenses grant, And upon the submission of the Director General of the General Organisation for Social Insurance, Hereby orders :

Article 1

-If the insured, whether Bahraini or foreigner, is buried in the State of Bahrain, the funeral expenses grant shall be paid at the rate of BD.300 (Bahraini Dinars three hundred).

- If the insured, in case of being a Bahraini national, dies outside the State of Bahrain, and whether he is buried in Bahrain or abroad, the funeral expenses grant shall be at the rate of BD.400 (Bahraini Dinars four hundred).

- If an insured foreigner dies in the State of Bahrain and his body is prepared for burial in the country of origin, the funeral expenses grant shall be at the rate of BD.400 (Bahraini Dinars four hundred).

Article 2

Any provisions which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Order shall be repealed.

Article 3

This Order shall be published in the Official Gazette and come into force from 14 October 1982.
