She has over two decades of experience in the government sector, having held various positions, ranging from system analysis to various leadership roles, most recently as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development before assuming the presidency of Social Insurance Organization.
She participated in a number of national projects specializing in cash support and social care, and was also an effective and active member in many specialized national committees.
She was honored to receive the First Class Efficiency Medal from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit.
She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the United Kingdom.
A.Rahman Abdulla Jasim Al Thawadi
Deputy CEO, Insurance Affairs
He has held several positions in the fields of finance and public policy. He began his professional career in the private sector as a Teller at Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, before moving to the public sector as a Human Resources Policy Specialist at the Civil Service Bureau. He then progressed to the Economic Policies Directorate at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, until the issuance of the decision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister appointing him as Director of the Economic Policies Directorate in 2022.
And he is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He has also gained extensive experience through close collaboration with senior government leaders, contributing throughout his career to several key government initiatives, including the Fiscal Balance Program and the Liquidity Support Fund.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bahrain Polytechnic.
Mohamed Abdulhakeem Ahmed Abdulmalek
Deputy CEO, Operations Affairs
He has over 12 years of professional experience in finance, audit, and procurement. He began his career as an auditor in the Performance Audit Directorate at the National Audit Office, where he participated in audit assignments covering more than 15 government entities and companies. His work focused on evaluating internal control systems, assessing compliance with legislation and legal frameworks, and performance standards related to effectiveness, efficiency, and economy.
He participated in the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Program and contributed to the implementation and follow-up of several government priority projects. In 2019, he joined the Ministry of Finance and National Economy as Director of Central Procurement, where he worked on establishing the directorate and implementing the centralized procurement program by providing entities’ common needs through unified specifications and competitive pricing. He also contributed to the establishment of the Shared Financial Services Sector, aimed at unifying financial procedures, enhancing spending efficiency, and improving the performance of finance staff across government entities.
In 2023, he was appointed to the Bahrain Tender Board, contributing to the oversight of government procurements, tenders, auctions, and sales, in addition to serving on several government committees, until he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations Affairs at the Social Insurance Organization in December 2025.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and Investment Management from Northumbria University (UK) and has completed professional programs in strategic planning, leadership, and auditing.
Seema Ahmed Mohamed Al Mahmood
Deputy CEO, Pensioners Affairs
An executive leader in digital transformation and business process reengineering, with over 25 years of experience in government services development and information and communication technology. She began her career in the private sector at Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), gaining approximately eight years of professional experience.
Since 2010, she has served at the Information and eGovernment Authority, progressing through several leadership roles, including Director of Change Management and Business Process Reengineering, and leading major government transformation initiatives, including the digital transformation of over 500 services and the development of 300 additional services. In December 2025, she was appointed Deputy Chief Officer for Retiree Affairs at the Social Insurance Organization.
She holds a master’s degree in computer science, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and several internationally recognized professional certifications.
Mohamed Saleh Mohamed
Executive Director of Financial Affairs Directorate
He is an active member of several internal committees at SIO, in addition to representing SIO in the Technical Committee of the GCC Civil Pension and Social Insurance Agencies.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Bahrain.
Khalid Ali Abdul Aziz
Executive Director of Benefits Directorate
He has extensive experience in managing pensions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and establishing a culture of effective customer service through the prompt processing of claims and pensions.
Mr. Khalid Ali has more than 30 years of practical experience, during which he has progressed in his work at SIO in many jobs and administrative positions, and is an active member of many internal committees at SIO, as well as representing it in the National Committee for the Elderly.
Mr. Khalid holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Bahrain.
Hamed Abdulla Al Hamed
Executive Director of Human Resources Directorate
He has more than 35 years of experience in the field of administrative services and human resources. His role includes overseeing the recruitment, training and professional development of employees. He has strong communication and problem-solving skills and works to foster a positive work environment that supports the sustainable growth and development of the Authority and its employees.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Nilein University.
Salma A.Rahman Al Sayed
Executive Director of the Insurance Information Directorate
She has extensive experience in managing IT teams for more than 22 years, and has progressed through several management positions at the Authority.
Her experience includes the development of the Insurance Information Management strategy in line with the Authority's vision, and has contributed to the management and implementation of several projects in the development of systems in the Authority.
She is responsible for managing and planning the implementation of the latest applications and systems for IT systems, portal, database management, and communication networks at SIO.
She holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Information Systems Management from New York University of Technology, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Bahrain.
Maha Sadiq Abdulkarim Al Shehabi
Director of Actuarial Studies and Risks Directorate
She has over 23 years of professional experience in actuarial studies and statistics. She began her career in 2002 at the Pension Fund Authority and progressed through several leadership positions, most notably Head of the Actuarial and Statistics Section at the Social Insurance Organization from 2009 to 2013, followed by Director of the Actuarial and Statistics Unit from 2013 to 2022. Since 2022, she served as Acting Executive Director of the Actuarial Studies and Risks Department, until her appointment as Director of the Actuarial Studies and Risks Department in December 2025.
Throughout her career, she has contributed to strategy development, supported reforms of social insurance systems, and enhanced the financial sustainability of pension funds. She also participated in comparative studies of pension systems and represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in several specialized regional and international forums.
She holds a master’s degree in business administration (Project Management), a bachelor’s degree in management information systems, and a Diploma in Social Insurance. In recognition of her academic achievement, she received an award from the Prime Minister in 2008.
Nawal Ahmed Al Aweedh
Director of Legal Affairs and Inspection Directorate
She has over 17 years of professional experience in pension and social insurance legislation. She began her career in 2008 at the Social Insurance Organization, progressing through several legal positions from Legal Researcher to Head of Parliamentary Affairs, and later Director of the External Affairs Unit, until her appointment as Director of the Legal Affairs and Inspection Directorate in December 2025, becoming the first woman to lead the Legal Affairs function since the establishment of the Organization.
She also represents the Organization in courts, government entities, and external parties, in addition to carrying out inspections of private sector establishments and serving as a member of several internal committees. She previously chaired the International Liaison Team of the GCC Pension and Social Insurance Authorities for four years and currently serves as the International Liaison Officer at the International Social Security Association (ISSA).
She holds a master’s degree in public law (Constitutional Law) awarded in 2025, and a bachelor’s degree in law was awarded in 2006.
Faisal Abdullah Saad Al Huwaihi
Director of communication and awareness Directorate
He has over 14 years of professional experience in the fields of media and public relations. He began his career in 2006 at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, where he progressed through several positions, including Media Specialist in 2010, New Customers Supervisor in 2017, and Senior Quality Specialist 2020.
He also served as chief of the International Relations Section at the Ministry of Social Development in 2023, worked as a Media Consultant in 2025, and was appointed Director of the Communication and Awareness Directorate in December 2025.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked within teams alongside a number of ministers and officials and has represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in several international forums.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in media, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising.
Fatima Hassan Ahmed Jassim
Director of Pensioner Services Directorate
She has over 15 years of professional experience in the field of social protection, she began her career in 2009 at the Ministry of Social Development. Throughout her career, she progressed through several key positions, most notably Head of the Social Assistance Assessment Section, where she led multidisciplinary teams and contributed to the development of social support assessment mechanisms.
In mid-2025, she joined the Social Insurance Organization as a Studies and Research Advisor and was appointed Director of the Pensioner Services Directorate in December 2025. During her professional journey, she contributed to the preparation of several studies and proposals based on the analysis of operational procedures, with a focus on strengthening governance and enhancing compliance efficiency. She also participated in government support program teams and represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in several local forums.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Bahrain.
Mohammed Abdullah Ahmed Al Janahi
Director of Registration and Contributions Directorate
He has over 14 years of professional experience across the private and public sectors. He began his career at Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, before moving to the public sector in 2012 at the Ministry of Social Development, where he progressed from Accountant to Senior Accountant, and was later appointed Chief of Registration and Social Services department in 2018. In 2022, he assumed the duties of Acting Director of Social Assistance Directorate.
In 2025, he joined the Social Insurance Organization as a Project Management Advisor and was appointed Director of the Registration and Contributions Directorate in December 2025. During his career, he contributed to the development of several social assistance systems and the enhancement of beneficiary experience.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the New York Institute of Technology.
