Equal Opportunities Committee
Based on the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, regarding the activation of the National Model for Integrating Women’s Needs within the Framework of Equal Opportunities, and pursuant to the directives of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, as well as the guidance of the Supreme Council for Women, the Equal Opportunity Committee was established at Social Insurance Organization
The committee's mission is to implement these directives by organizing and addressing women’s needs across all fields of work, and by ensuring the achievement of the principle of equal opportunities among employees and beneficiaries of the services provided. The Committee is also responsible for setting the regulations and standards necessary for applying the principles of equal opportunities and fulfilling women’s needs in the following areas:
- Promoting equal opportunities among the SIO employees in recruitment, training, scholarships, and promotions, while ensuring that the needs of working women are met.
- Integrating women’s needs into the SIO policies, plans, and budgets.
- Building the capacities of the SIO employees in the field of integrating women’s needs within the framework of equal opportunities.
- Improving the working environment for women and overcoming challenges related to the implementation of the principle of equal opportunities within the SIO.
- Supporting the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women, activating and disseminating its initiatives, and integrating women’s needs within the framework of equal opportunities in accordance with the approved National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.
- Ensuring the principle of equal opportunities for all beneficiaries of the SIO services.
