Decision No. (63) of 2022 amending Some Provisions of Decision No. (18) of 2007 regarding the Procedures and Rules for Calculating

Minister of Finance and National Economy:

Having reviewed the Law No. (13) of 1975 regarding the Regulating of Pensions and Retirement Benefits for Government Employees, as amended;

And Legislative Decree No. (78) of 2006 on Unemployment Insurance, as amended;

Law No. (3) of 2008 regarding the Social Insurance Organization, as amended by Law No (33) of 2014;

Civil Service Law promulgated by Legislative Decree No. (48) of 2010, as amended;

And Decision No. (18) of 2007 regarding the Procedures and Rules for Calculating, Collecting and Paying Unemployment Insurance Contributions, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. (78) of 2006 on Unemployment Insurance for Employees Subject to the Work Injury Insurance Provided for in Law No. (13) of 1975;

After coordination with the Minister of Labour and Social Development;

And after the approval of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Organization, Hereby Decides:

Article One

The texts of Articles (1) and (7) of Decision No. (18) of 2007 regarding the Procedures and Rules for Calculating, Collecting and Paying Unemployment Insurance Contributions, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. (78) of 2006 on Unemployment Insurance for Employees Subject to the Work Injury Insurance Provided for in Law No. (13) of 1975 shall be replaced with the following texts:

Article (1):

"The Social Insurance Organization shall be responsible for calculating, collecting, and administering the unemployment insurance contributions for Bahraini and non-Bahraini employees subject to the provisions of Work Injury Insurance Provided for in Law No. (13) of 1975 regarding the regulation of pensions and retirement benefits for government employees, based on the salary for which monthly contributions are paid to the Social Insurance Organization”.

Article (7):

"The authorities mentioned in Clause (2) of Article (2) of this Decision shall provide the Social Insurance Organization with a statement of salaries of the employees working for them on the first of January of each year, using the form determined by the Organization.

Furthermore, these authorities are obliged to notify the Social Insurance Organization of any changes that occur in the salaries referred to in the first paragraph of this Article, using the form determined by the Organization”.

Article Two

All provisions contrary to the provisions of this Law shall be repealed.

Article Three

The Chief Executive Officer of the Social Insurance Organization shall implement the provisions of this Decision, and it shall come into force from the day following the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
